Odd-Even Socialization Held in A Month

Jakarta Dept. of Transportation will hold socialization of odd-even traffic system for a month. It will start on June 28 up to July 26.

Andri Yansyah, head of agency, admitted socialization is held to inform the citizens well. “Citizens must know and understand about the system before it is applied,” he said, Saturday (6/25).
He added that odd-even system is held before applying Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system. Trial will be held from July 27 up to August 26. Then full implementation including sanction for offender is start on August 30.
Odd-Even System Encouraged People Use Public TransportOdd-even system is applied from Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 10 AM and 4 PM to 8 PM. No odd-even system in Saturday-Sunday and national holiday.
Vehicles with odd plate number are operate on odd date, and even plate number operate on even date. Odd-even is determined from vehicle last plate number. Zero is even.
“Vehicles with odd plate number or vice versa are still able to operate on even date or outside the system operational period,” he added.
The system is not valid for president, vice president, RI plate, department, firetruck, ambulance, public transports, goods transport (based on Governor Regulation No. 5148/1999, and motorcycle except on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat up to Jalan Thamrin.
Odd-even system is applied on road with 3 in 1 system like Jalan Merdeka Barat-Jalan MH Thamrin-Jalan Sudirman-Jalan Sisingamaraja and part of Jalan Gatot Subroto (Kuningan intersection up to Gerbang Pemuda).
