Royal Batavia Cakung Hospital Construction Set to Begin in December 2026

Jakarta City Council (DPRD) Commission E Chair M. Subki said the Jakarta Provincial Government had allocated more than Rp350 billion for the Royal Batavia Cakung Hospital project.

The groundbreaking will take place in December

He explained that Rp50 billion had been allocated in 2026, with a further allocation of more than Rp300 billion set aside to continue the hospital's construction.

Royal Batavia Cakung Hospital's Name Reflects History of Jakarta

"God willing, the groundbreaking will take place in December," he said during a working meeting on the draft regional regulation on the 2027 Jakarta City Budget on Wednesday (11/4).

He hoped that visible progress on the hospital's construction would begin to emerge between December and January.

According to Subki, the project is part of the Jakarta Provincial Government's efforts to strengthen healthcare facilities and improve the quality of healthcare services, particularly for residents of East Jakarta.

"So, by December and January, we should start seeing how construction is progressing," he noted.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung previously launched the Royal Batavia Cakung Hospital project at the Cakung Barat Terpadu Superblock in East Jakarta. The hospital, which will be owned by the Jakarta Provincial Government, is targeted for completion by the end of 2027.

The Royal Batavia Cakung Hospital project aims to address the shortage of healthcare facilities in Cakung Sub-district. In addition to providing general medical services, the hospital is planned to serve as a referral hospital for infectious diseases, trauma care, and chronic conditions such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.
