Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama is about to develop a grocery wholesale in Kramat Jati Market in order to suppress grocery price.

"We plan to open grocery wholesale in Kramat Jati like hypermart, thus the trader can buy grocery from the first party," he stated, during an executive meeting at City Hall, Monday (7/25).

He disclosed, all this time, they buy grocery with expensive price. Thus it will also trigger hike price among the buyer. "If the wholesale is developed, they can buy cheap grocery," he expressed.

All this time, 70 percent of salary received by employee will be spent for grocery. Thus the government should lend a hand on this matter.

"Grocery contributes approximately 70 percent in UMP. That's why most our people are poor," he said.

His party asks PD Pasar Jaya to develop the wholesale. Considering they are one that is engaged in food commodity. "We ask for the support of PD Pasar Jaya to realize it," he closed.
