50 Illegal Buildings in Kali Pasir Demolished

Hundreds of joint personnel of Satpol PP, police, and army tore down 50 illegal buildings around Jalan Kali Pasir, Cikini Urban Village, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (5/7). After being demolished, the road is planned to be built as an inspection road towards Jalan Raden Saleh.

Based on beritajakata.com observations, the demolition run conducive. The building owners could not do anything when officers demolished their homes. 

"I don't know where I have to stay. Moreover the rental cost here is expensive," said one of building owners, Wednesday (5/7).

North Jakarta P2B Demolished a Building Without Permit

Head of Menteng Sub-District, Bondan Dyah Ekowati disclosed that prior to demolition, his side had done socialization to locals. "There are 80 people living here. In October 2013, the demolition plan already socialized to local citizens. Yet it was ignored, thus we decide to demolish the buildings forcibly," he expressed.

He told that 30 citizens had demolished their buildings in last January. And now, we did similar thing against 50 buildings at the same site.

"Those buildings were demolished because of its owner has violated the rules," he uttered.
