Jakarta Provincial Government is about to build a 36 square meter-wide flat tower per unit this year. Commonly, every unit only has 30 square meters wide.

"We'll build the tower as wide as 36 square meters," said Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama, at City Hall, Thursday (8/3).

The tower is dedicated to the evicted residents. According to him, those who live on the riverbank is not evicted, but relocated.

"This is not eviction, but relocation to the tower. For Bukit Duri residents, we already prepare the Rawa Bebek Tower," he told.

Besides that, several facilities are also added such as gas, school bus, business place, etc. Retribution cost is pretty cheap.

"The cost is Rp 5,000-Rp 10,000 per day. We subsidize 80 percent. We also give Jakarta Smart Card to children, they can ride Transjakarta bus for free, all is ready," he finished.
