A number of shanties that lined up along Jl Jatibaru, Tanah Abang were controlled by Satpol PP personnel. They also managed to seize carts that parked on the roadside and the sidewalk.

Head of Central Jakarta Satpol PP, Rahmat Effendi Lubis disclosed, prior to controlling, his side had tried to block and conduct sweeping, but the vendor still recklessly opened shanties. 

"We had to control them because they sell on the sidewalk and the roadside around Tanah Abang Station," he stated, Wednesday (8/9).

He added sweeping is routinely conducted. Prior to controlling, he certainly does persuasive first.

"Further, the cart will be brought to sub-district and the owner will be sanctioned," he finished.
