Again, Kota Tua Area Crowded by PKL and Illegal Parking

Street vendor (PKL) and vehicle arrangement in Kota Tua area, Taman Sari, West Jakarta is unoptimal yet. Evidently, tens of street vendors and illegal parking are still rampant and make the tourist site looks shabby.

PKL and illegal parking is getting rampant. Kota Tua looks shabby and dirty. This is due to low awareness from related unit and I hope they could control them soon

Based on Beritajakarta.com observations, most street vendors are selling food and beverage in Kota Tua by using cart. Likewise with other vendors who sell children toy and accessories, they roam freely around Fatahillah Museum.

Such site is getting grubby with illegal parking on the roadside of Jl Kunir, Lada, Kali Besar Timur until access road towards yard of Fatahillah Museum.

Sidewalk Arrangement in Kota Tua Using Non-APBD

Wawan (32), a citizen of RW 06, Tambora, West Jakarta disclosed, this condition always seen in Kota Tua every day, from afternoon until night.

"PKL and illegal parking is getting rampant. Kota Tua looks shabby and dirty. This is due to low awareness from related unit and I hope they could control them soon," he requested, Thursday (8/18).

When being confirmed, Taman Sari Sub-District Head, Paris Limbong asserted his side has repeatedly controlled them along with related unit.

"We've controlled them, but they return again," he justified.

Meanwhile, West Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept Head, Anggiat Banjarnahor also revealed the same thing. 

"This is due to low awareness of local residents in parking their vehicles. No wonder, illegal parking is very rampant," he closed.
