Flood Area Declines, Basuki Says

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama optimistic flood area will decline significantly by next year. It is because Ciliwung river normalization is being worked, and water channels are remain dredged.

“Flood area will decline next year,” he said, Monday (8/22).

At this time, the flood area has decreased. The puddle also recede quickly due to dredged channel.

“You can see in South and North Jakarta. Flood areas have declined now,” he added.

In fact, Basuki admitted some areas are still flooded due to its territory or buildings disturb water channel.

“Like I said, flood will still happen. But the area will decline and recede quickly,” he closed.
