BBWSCC Akan Normalisasi Kali Krukut Sepanjang 10 KM

Krukut River will Be Normalized Up to 10 KM

With BBWSCC, Jakarta Provincial Government is going to normalize the Krukut River up to 10 kilometers long.

We'll normalize approximately 10 kilometers. The river function will be restored as before in which it had 20-25 meters wide

BBWSCC Head, Teuku Iskandar disclosed, the river has 84 kilometers long that extends from Citayam Lake that empties into West Flood Canal (KBB). While the normalization only takes 10 kilometers.

"We'll normalize approximately 10 kilometers. The river function will be restored as before in which it had 20-25 meters wide," he said, at City Hall, Monday (8/29).

City to Normalize Krukut River

According to him, the problem region is in the middle and downstream. Starting from Pondok Labu until Jl Kebalen, Kebayoran Baru. Formerly, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing had normalized the Rengas Bridge until Kebalen VII.

"BBWSCC has normalized the Rengas Bridge until Kebalen VII. It is at least 600 meters. By so, we could reduce the region up to 90 percent from flood," he expressed.

His side is ready to normalize the river. Considering the average wide of the river is only 3-4 meters. Even some points are only 1.5 meters wide. This project will be realized after land acquisition is done.

"The only way to save the region is how to restore the productive level of the river itself. Right now, the condition that we needs is 20 meters wide.

If Jakarta government could provide a land this year, his side will do the project next year. Considering there must be mobilization of heavy equipment which is quite a lot first.
