Gendong Cakung Drain River Normalized

Normalization of Gendong Cakung Drain River will start today, Wednesday (8/31). As the initial stage, sheet pile installation will be done. At this time, heavy equipment such as excavator and crane has been sent to the location.

The river must be plastered as soon as possible, they (occupants) must be aware that this is government land. No compensation and relocation here

North Jakarta Water Management Sub-dept, Herning Wahyuningsih disclosed, the Gendong Cakung Drain River has been sterile from illegal building. Despite it is not yet evenly, around 90 percent of the parts which will be normalized already sterile from the building thus project can begin.

"Excavator and crane have been sent to the field to fix the corrugated concrete sheet pile (CCSP) that installed sloping thus can work optimally," she explained, Tuesday (8/30).

Legal Basis Still Being Prepared for Krukut River Normalization

Cilincing Sub-district Head, Edi Purnomo disclosed, 55 buildings along Jl Bulak Cabe standing on the riverbank were been torn down by the owner. These buildings were formerly occupied by 50-80 households and used as business place and dwelling.

"The river must be plastered as soon as possible, they (occupants) must be aware that this is government land. No compensation and relocation here," he asserted.

He explains, sheet pile would be installed in the river as long as 317 meters, starting from Bulak Cabe until under Arteri Marunda Bridhe that located next to Pelindo Flat.

"Besides there will be mud dredging in the river as deep as five meters," he finished.
