Lokbin UPT Took Over 33 Kiosks in Blok B Lorong 103 Koja

The Jakarta Built Landscape (Lokbin) Technical Management Unit (UPT) officially took over 33 kiosks in Blok B Lokbin Lorong 103, Koja Sub-District, North Jakarta, Monday (5/12), due to the old peddlers have yet to process the administration requirements. Later, those kiosks will be given to tens of street vendors who have not got kiosks and still trading actively on Jalan Lorong 103.

“At this time, there are about 35 street vendors actively trading on Jalan Lorong 103. Today, we’re collecting their data. If they were listed in our waiting list, kiosk’s ownership transfer can be immediately processed,” stated Head of Jakarta Lokbin UPT, Orada Sinurat.

According to Sinurat, during kiosks raffling on Thursday (4/24), only 198 out of 220 street vendors came. They were competing 135 remaining kiosks out of 224 total kiosks in Blok B Lokbin Lorong 103. Meanwhile, 89 other kiosks are allocated for prioritized street vendors without raffling process.

33 Empty Kiosks in Block B Lokbin Koja Sealed

Regarding the empty kiosks in Blok B Lokbin Lorong 103, Sinurat assessed that not all vendors who signed up for kiosks distribution are active vendors. He cited that out of 63 street vendors, there are 35 of them trading actively on Jalan Lorong 103.

Head of Koja Sub-District, Rahmat Effendi, admitted that his party supports Jakarta Lokbin UPT’s step in regulating street vendors. “This is the leading sector of UPT, we in the region just give support. Since they (Jakarta Lokbin UPT) are the one who relocate, I hope there is a solution given to the street vendors who do not get kiosks,” he uttered.

As reported before, Jakarta Lokbin UPT sealed 33 kiosks in Blok B Lokbin Lorong 103 on Wednesday (5/7). Such decisive action was conducted because the kiosk owners still not opening their kiosks in 2x24 hours tolerance time given.
