Heavy downpours in the last several days have triggered floods, causing overflowing water of Pesanggrahan River and engulfing tens of houses at RT 05/09, Kembangan Selatan Urban Village, Kembangan Sub-district, West Jakarta. Water level reaches 10-50 centimeters.

Sultoni (53), a local citizen disclosed flood occurs since yesterday at around 7 PM when heavy rain pours.

"Our village is prone to flood each year. Until now, it has not been receded and still high," he expressed, Thursday (9/8).

Kembangan Sub-district Head, Agus Ramdhani expressed that the village is indeed prone to flood. He has also checked the location, where 30 houses inundated.

"Nevertheless, no one take to fled," he expressed.

Meanwhile, West Jakarta Water Management Sub-dept, Imron Syahrin explains, to avoid flood, his side continues to normalize and install sheet pile at the river.

"To acquire the area, the river must be normalized soon. And, at this time, it's still under land acquisition," he finished.
