Penjaringan City Forest WTP Construction Started

The construction of Water Treatment Plant (WTP) at Penjaringan City Forest, Pejagalan Urban Village, Penjaringan is started. It is targeted the construction to complete in 1.5 years.

It is hoped the WTP will be able to reduce the water consumption deficit which reaches 3,800-9,000 liters/second. The management will be handled by PT Jakarta Utilitas Propertindo (JUP).

PT Jakarta Utilitas Propertindo Director, Chairul Hakim, WTP will take water from West Flood Canal (KBB). It is hoped the water consumption deficit can be reduced by 500 liters/second.

“Later on, water quality will be better because we involved experienced partner,” he said Thursday (9/15).

According to him, the construction investment reaches Rp 113 billion. The construction will be divided into two stages. First stage is producing 200 liters/second in nine months and 300 liters/second in six months.

“We must produce 200 liters in June 2017 and it must be completed fully in December,” he added.

The treated water will be supplied by PT Palyja. It will sold by Rp 2,650/meter cubics.

PAM Jaya Director, Erlan Hidayat, admitted there are seven WTPs have been built in Jakarta. Those are Buaran I WTP, Buaran II, Pejompongan I, Pejompongan II, Taman Kota, Cilandak and Pulogadung.

“It is hoped the additional WTP will add the water stock and able to reduce water theft,” he stated.
