Communal Sanitation Project in Residential Accelerated

The city administration is going to speed up a communal sanitation construction. As the initial stage, it is targeted it will be built at five locations in each urban village.

"The city wants to accelerate sanitation project in all urban villages with community base. So it's not a big project system," said Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, after meeting with representatives of Gen Director Cipta Karya, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, Thursday (9/15).

He added, in 2017, the city administration will make a communal-based sanitation. That is by involving local residents to manage wastewater. "We want one urban village has five points of communal sanitation," he expressed.

Qurban Committee Should Monitor Sanitation

Djarot continued, with this facility, public health will also improve. People do not throw garbage haphazardly thus the environment becomes cleaner.

"It is also one of the key to guarantee public health, because some wells and water in Jakarta are already contaminated with ecoli bacteria," he disclosed.
