Kedoya Selatan Residents Want Normalization for Pesanggrahan River

Residents of Kedoya Selatan Urban Village, Kebon Jeruk Sub-district, complaining the Pesanggrahan river condition. Because of mud sediment, the settlement is flooded during heavy rain or water from Bogor. That is why the residents request for normalization.

Of 16 RTs, only RT 06 and RT 09 are not flooded. Water height is about 60 cm to 1.5 meter

“Of 16 RTs, only RT 06 and RT 09 are not flooded. Water height is about 60 cm to 1.5 meter,” said Sumardi Ramelan (60), one of residents, Sunday (9/25).

Meanwhile, West Jakarta Sub-dept. of Water Management, Imron Syahrin, admitted parts of the river width is now only three meters from previous width by 12 meters.

Pesanggrahan River Dredging Starts

“River parts from RT 16 up to Cengkareng Drain has been normalized and its width now 12 meters,” he said.

Responding about the area at RT 03/05, Kedoya Selatan, he stated his side is still waiting the land buying process. As planned before, the normalization will be applied at Kedoya Utara Urban Village, Kedoya Selatan, Srengseng, Kebon Jeruk, Kelapa Dua, up to Sukabumi Selatan.

“If the land buying process is completed, normalization and sheet pile installation can be accelerated,” he closed.
