75,000 Elementary Students Will Get HPV Vaccinations

Jakarta Health Dept is about to give vaccination types Human Parmilloma Virus (HPV) this week. As the initial stage, it will be vaccinated to 75,000 students of elementary school.

This is to anticipate cervical cancer early, because it is one of the highest case in Indonesia

"We plant to do launching in some elementary schools in Lubang Buaya Urban Village. This year, we'll vaccinate 75,000 students," expressed Koesmadi Priharto, Head of Jakarta Health Dept, Monday (10/3).

Technically, it is only dedicated to 5 grade student. Then in next year, the same thing will be done to 5-6 grade student.

Fight Cervical Cancer, City to Give HVP Immunization

"This is to anticipate cervical cancer early, because it is one of the highest case in Indonesia," he stated.

From the 2012 Globocan data, the estimation of skin cancer cases in Indonesia was the highest one in Asia with incidence 20,928 and mortality 9,498. Hence, there must be a special program to reduce the risk of cervical cancer.
