TransJakarta Bus Corridor II Route Extended until Bekasi

TransJakarta Management Unit is going to extend the corridor II (Pulogadung-Harmoni) route until Jalan Bekasi Raya, Ujung Menteng. This route extension is conducted to optimize its services and facilitate people from outside Jakarta.

Hopefully, the public would be interested and switch to using TransJakarta bus. Thus, the number of vehicles coming into the capital city can decrease

According to Head of TransJakarta Management Unit, Pargaulan Butarbutar, five single buses has been prepared to serve passengers. In addition, eight new bus stops will be added in corridor II, namely at Raya Bekasi KIP, Raya Bekasi Tipar Cakung, Cakung United Tractors, Raya Bekasi Pasar Caking, Raya Bekasi Cakung Cilincing, Raya Bekasi Pulo Gebang, Raya Bekasi Ujung Menteng, and Harapan Indah.

“We plan to operate the corridor on Monday (5/19), initiated with five single buses. Those buses are intended to meet the passengers’ needs from buffer regions,” he stated, Sunday (5/18).

TransJakarta Bus Route Extension to Bekasi Hampered

According to Butarbutar, those five single buses, which will cover a distance of 7.61 kilometers long, are equipped with closed-circuit televisions (CCTV) and global position system (GPS). The facilities are expected would able to provide comfort for TransJakarta bus passengers.

“TransJakarta Management Unit has prepared the bus drivers and conducted vehicle trial in that route for adjustment of field conditions. We also prepared security officers in the bus, cashiers, janitors, and other supporting facilities,” he uttered.

Meanwhile, Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, Muhammad Akbar, hoped that with this route extension, people from outside Jakarta can switch to using mass transportation such as TransJakarta bus.
