Public Transports and Illegal Stalls in Kebayoran Lama Controlled

The joint personnel of Satpol PP and South Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department have controlled 5 public transports and demolished 2 illegal stalls around Kebayoran Lama Market, South Jakarta, Monday (5/19). It aims to parse traffic congestion in the capital.

"We do the raid in order to parse congestion around Kebayoran Lama Market," expressed AB Nahor, Head of Supervision and Control Section for South Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, Monday (5/19).

Nahor disclosed, the raid is focused on public transports that always pick up and drop off the passenger and vehicles stop in forbidden areas. "In the raid, have grounded Metromini 69, Mikrolet M09, and 1 bajaj," he stated.

Dozens of Tanah Abang PKLs' Stalls Controlled

Additionally, personnel also have ticketed 2 inter city-inter provincial (AKAP) buses parked behind the Bata Putih Market. Those are PO Kurnia Jaya B 7574 XA and PO Setia Negara B 7976 IW, heading for Jakarta-Pekalongan. "These vehicles are ticketed due to they supposed to enter into terminal. But we had to remove the tire valve of the Setia Negara bus, because the drivers complicate the process of investigation," he asserted.

Head of Taskforce for Kebayoran Lama Sub-District Satpol PP, Mika Darwin disclosed personnel have demolished 2 illegal stalls around Kebayoran Lama Market. "Due to the owners reject to be relocated, we decided to demolish 2 stalls," he said.

Due to this condition, road users are complaining the existence of stalls and vehicles that often stop haphazardly. The inadequate parking lot is also one factors of congestion in such area.
