Truck Fell, Traffic in Tanjung Priok Severely Congested

Due to a truck carrying flour fell on Kresek River Bridge, Jalan Jampea, Koja, North Jakarta, Tuesday (5/20), the traffic towards Tanjung Priok Port bogged down severely. The congestion is estimated reaching two kilometers.

Usually, it takes 20 minutes to get in Koja toward Jalan Cakung Clincing. But it has almost been one hour I could not get there

The truck with plate number B 9002 UOM fell at around 7.30 AM and evacuated at 10 AM. However, until 12 PM, traffic congestion still occurred on Jalan Cakung Clincing and impacted until Jalan Yos Sudarso heading towards Tanjung Priok Port.

Fitriandi (24), a biker, had to find alternative road to Koja. Because of the severe congestion on Jalan Raya Cakung Clincing, Fitriandi who came from Bintara, Bekasi, turned his motorcycle to Jalan Raya Kramat Jaya.

Tanjung Priok Port Toll Road Access Project Continues

“Usually, it only took 20 minutes to reach Koja through Jalan Cakung Clincing. But now, it has almost been an hour and I still haven’t reach Koja yet,” he complained.

Head of North Jakarta Metro Resort Police Traffic Unit, AKBP Gatot Subroto, admitted that the severe congestion is caused by the truck that fell on Kresek River Bridge this morning.

“We’re just parsing the congestion now. As many as 20 personnel are deployed to break the congestion down,” he stated.
