City Gives Aid to Flood Victims in Garut

The city government gave aid for the flood victims in Garut Regency, West Java, Thursday (10/20). The aid worth Rp 150 million is taken from Jakarta Bazis in order to lighten the victim's burden.

It was officially handed over by City Secretary, Saefullah to Vice Regent of Garut, Helmi Budiman at the Regent office.
Both directly reviewed the disaster location along with other officials. Saefullah stated, it could be a lesson for all parties to swiftly in the face of disaster.
Public Kitchen Provided for Flood Victims in Cipinang Melayu"On behalf of the city government, we are sorry for this incident, may be used as the evaluation and lessons for us all to be aware of the disaster," he disclosed, in Garut, West Java, Thursday (10/20).
Vice Regent of Garut, Helmi Budiman revealed that the aid is a form of attention and moral support for Jakartans who suffered flood.
"We get support from Jakarta people. They very pay attention to our situation and condition. This is things that bring a better future," said Helmi.
As known, flash flood disaster in Garut occurred on September 21 at dawn. Tens of people died and 18 people missing. Currently, hundreds of residents have lost their homes after being hit by overflowing water of Cimanuk River.
