City Handed Bus Procurement to PT Transjakarta

Since Jakarta Provincial Government will not be in charge of the TransJakarta bus procurement, it will be handled by PT TransJakarta directly.

“First of all, we decide the transition period until last December, along with operator and PT Jakarta has signed (the agreement). We want to make sure all pools have been given to them. No more bus purchasing. They should ask operators to invest,” explained Basuki T Purnama, Jakarta Vice Governor, Tuesday (5/20).

However, Basuki stated that his party will provide bus purchasing standard that should be bought by operator and PT TransJakarta. If the bus condition is damage, the government has a right to cross out TransJakarta operator. “If it damages several time, we’ll cross out definitely. Later on, there will be standards we made for easier way,” Basuki affirmed.

No Bus Purchase This Year, Basuki Says

The government will keep coordinate with other bus operators for TransJakarta lane use. The government will also subsidize the remaining ticket price of private operators if TransJakarta passengers want to switch bus to the private bus.

PT Transjakarta is also asked to cooperate with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) in applying one ticket that can be used for TransJakarta and Commuter Line. “It’s going to be one ticket. So people get off from train could take TransJakarta without paying anymore,” Basuki completed.
