PIK II River in Penjaringan Cleaned from Water Hyacinth

The PIK II River that located at Jl Pantai Indah Kapuk Utara, Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, North Jakarta is cleaned from garbage and water hyacinth. Predictably, cleaning will be complete next week.

"Cleaning has been conducted since yesterday. We managed to pick up 45 cubic of water hyacinth and garbage so far," said Head of Cleanliness Management Unit (UPK) for Jakarta Cleanliness Dept, Junjungan Sihombing, Tuesday (11/1).

According to Junjungan, cleaning will be carried out along the river or as long as three kilometers until Darurat Market (border of West Jakarta).It would take place until one week.

To speed up it, as many as 35 freelancers under Cleanliness Sub-dept sent to the field. Additionally, he requested an assistance from each region as many as two freelancers.

"It will be complete one week. After that, we will continue it to Angke River," he finished.
