2017, Trading Center For PKL in JIC Built

Jakarta Small and Medium Enterprises and Cooperatives (KUMKMP) Dept will build a trading center for street vendor (PKL) in Jakarta Islamic Center (JIC), Koja, North Jakarta in 2017.

The trading center is specifically for SMEs which have opened a culinary and souvenir business at the front entrance of the JIC.

"We propose the development in JIC area by building UKM center in order to accommodate hundreds of street vendor," said Irwandi, Head of Jakarta KUMKMP Dept, during joint meeting of City Council Commission B, Thursday (11/3).

SMK JIC Began to Operate in 2017

According to Irwandi, Rp 74 billion will be spent to construct hundreds of kiosks in the trading center.

"Kiosk construction is the aspiration of the JIC management thus tourists visiting can easily buy souvenirs typical of Jakarta," he expressed.

Meanwhile, a Member of City Council Commission B, Prabowo Soenirman stated culinary vendors in JIC's trading central must be selected.

"Culinary vendors must go through selection first before selling there," he stated.
