Park Repair in Front of KPU Office Takes 3 Days

As reported earlier, the park in front of General Election Commission (KPU) office on Jalan Imam Bonjol, Menteng, Central Jakarta, was tampered by the sympathizers of president and vice president candidates, Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla and Prabowo-Hatta Rajasa.

Since yesterday, Wednesday (5/21), Jakarta Parks and Cemeteries Department has begun to repair that park. The work is targeted to finish in three days at the longest.

The park’s repair work has been ongoing since yesterday. We clean and replace the plants stepped on with new ones,” stated Head of Jakarta Parks and Cemeteries Department, Nandar Sunandar, Thursday (5/22).

Meanwhile, Head of Green Belt Section for Jakarta Parks and Cemeteries Department, Jauhar Arifin, explained that the damage level of the park is not too severe. Thus, the repair work is predicted would finish in three days. The damaged plants consist of daffodils, kana, and grass.

“I think the repair cost is not expensive, because not all plants replaced. The important thing is that this park must be as good as before,” he asserted.
