Locals Request Improvement of Collapsed Bridge in Pejaten Timur

Residents of Jl Masjid Al Makmur, RT 06/08, Pejaten Timur, Pasar Minggu are requesting related unit to immediately improve the collapsed bridge in their residential. As known,the bridge as wide as 1.5 meters with 7 meters long was collapsed last August due to erosion.

We have yet to get confirmation about reparation

Agus (26), one of residents expressed residents have not received confirmation of when the bridge will be improved. This is because it is an access for local residents to get to Pasar Minggu area.

"We have yet to get confirmation about reparation. Usually we use the bridge to get to Pasar Minggu for shopping," he stated, Tuesday (11/8).

Based on Beritajakarta.com observations, there is an emergency bridge constructed from bamboo near the bridge.

"We collect money independently to build such emergency bridge, but we don't know how long the bridge can last, because we just use bamboo," he told.

Responding on this matter, Head of South Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-dept, Agustio Ruhuseto explains the bridge was initially built by locals, but the connecting channel's sheet pile used as the bridge supports.

"We've got the report. The collapse is sheet pile, that was built by locals. We'll survey it to find out the cause and its damage. And then we do improvement," he finished.
