A sudden attack involving thugs experienced by Satpol PP officers in Cipinang Besar Utara (CBU) Urban Village, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, Thursday (5/22). The incident broke out when officers were on a routine patrol on Jalan DI Panjaitan, Prumpung.
Although the thugs carrying sharp weapons, but there were no officers injured in the incident. Yet, the incident only damaged patrol operational car on the back after being stoned by a bunch of thugs.

The chronology began when 7 Satpol PP officers did a routine patrol in Prumpang area. After removing illegal banners in Viaduk Park, Jatinegara, the patrol moved to Jalan DI Panjaitan. About 100 meters from Viaduk Park, five thugs suddenly attack them while carrying sickles, machetes, samurai and saws.
Head of Cipinang Besar Utara Urban Village Satpol PP, Makmun said that he was in the car and sit in the front during the incident. He was surprised to hear a loud noise from the rear the car and immediately asked the driver, Sigit Eko (30) to stop the vehicle.
"I think the car tires broke, because the voice is very loud. When I got out of the car, five people attacked us using sharp weapons," he expressed, Thursday (5/22).
Satpol PP officers then got out and chase the attackers. When entered in an alley, they managed to detain one attacker. But other attackers immediately pointing sharp weapons to them and had to release the culprit.
Not long after, 20 other thugs came out from the alley. Seeing them, the officers ran away using the car.
Vice Head of Cipinang Besar Utara Urban Village, Bambang Novianto stated his side has reported the incident to Jatinegara Resort Police. He also does not know the attackers' motive. "I don't know the motive. Certainly, the case is being investigated by police," he told.
He suspected the sudden attack occurred after the raids carried by East Jakarta Social Sub-Department two days ago. Where officers netted people with social welfare problem (PMKS) living in Prumpung area. Thus the motive is allegedly revenge.
Novianto added that his side would coordinate with Jatinegara Sub-District and Jatinegara Sector Police, to control the Prumpung area from PMKS. Those attackers is suspected living nearby the area because of his men know one thug.
