Jakarta Provincial Government plans to give subsidy for staple food transport to Seribu Island. It is aimed to suppress the staple food price.
Transport subsidy can be given while waiting the system stability
Acting Jakarta Governor, Sumarsono, said alternative way to suppress the price must be given before constructing the market in Seribu Island.
“Temporarily, subsidy will be given for the transport cost,” he said, Monday (11/21).

He added that Jakarta Provincial Government is considered fail if the difference of staple food price in mainland and island is too far. Seribu Island is still Jakarta Provincial Government’s responsibility.
“Transport subsidy can be given while waiting the system stability,” he added.
His side also promised to add eight new ships to support the local transport mode.
