Jakarta Structural Officials Will Be Downsized 15 Percent

Jakarta Provincial Government along with City Council (DPRD) is discussing on revision of bylaw about Regional Working Organization (OPD). The draft bylaw regulates on the downsizing plan for government official.

The official will be downsized up to 10-15 percent. From that number, the other will be fictionalized

Jakarta Acting Governor, Sumarsono disclosed, in the draft bylaw, the official number will be downsized up to 10-15 percent. The number is still under discussion between legislative and executive.

"The official will be downsized up to 10-15 percent. From that number, the other will be fictionalized," he stated, at City Council building, Wednesday (11/23).

Structural Official`s Allowance Disbursed

Nevertheless, his party avoids non-official job. Later on, the officials affected by the downsizing plan will be fictionalized, as long as they have good performance.

"I avoid the non job potential. For peace of employees. As long as they work well and meet the standards, I try to functional them," he expressed.

In future, the number of Jakarta officials will be downsized gradually. By so, the number of functional employees would be propagated toward professional public service. 

It will influence on budget efficiency. Eventually, the budget will be transferred to public service.

"This is a spirit of diverting from bureaucratic cost to the higher and better public service cost," he disclosed.
