Jakarta Will Be Free from HIV in 2020

Jakarta AIDS Handling Commission (KPAP) keeps trying to eradicate the circulation of HIV/AIDS in Jakarta through program of Jakarta Fast Track City 2020 Ending Epidemic.

In 2015, there have been 47,440 cases detected and the rest are targeted to be detected in 2020

Jakarta KPAP Secretary, Rohana Manggala said, the program is an effort to overcome infection and handling of HIV/AIDS in Jakarta. Based on the result of Health Ministry survey, there are 92,920 cases of HIV in Jakarta.

"In 2015, there have been 47,440 cases detected and the rest are targeted to be detected in 2020," she stated, Saturday (11/26).

Hence, her side invites people who are prone to HIV/AIDS to conduct medical check-up and consultation at th nearest sub-district puskesmas. If they are positive, they will get antireroviral (ARV) treatment for free.

 

"It will be able to decrease the number of HIV/AIDS case in future," she finished.
