Hundreds of personnel under West Jakarta Water Management Sub-dept have cleaned up the Serdang Connecting Channel, Kemayoran. The cleaning is conducted by dredging mud to anticipate inundation.

Vice Mayor of Central Jakarta, Bayu Merghantara, dredging is aimed to smoothen the water flow from the upstream, namely Cempaka Baru towards Cempaka Baru Stationer Pump House. "The water must flow smoothly and not clogged. That's why we do dredging," he expressed, Sunday (12/4).

Meanwhile, Head of Central Jakarta Water Management Central Jakarta, Dicky Suherlan added that the dredging was done manually, because the heavy equipment could not reach the location.

"We send 300 personnel and 12 trucks to pick up mud," he finished.
