Jakarta Dept. of Tourism and Culture keeps trying to boost the number of foreign and domestic tourist to the capital city. One of the ways is implementing the international events easily.

“We work with company to hold international events. As the example, Java Jazz entertainment tax was cut to 50 percent,” said Catur Laswanto, agency’s head, Tuesday (12/6).

Based on the data, the number of foreign tourist in 2014 was 2.3 million people, in 2015 was 2.7 million people. Domestic tourist number in 2014 was 27 million and in 2015 was 31 million people.

“Our tourist number compared to Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok is too far,” he added.

As the implementer of international meeting, incentives, conferences and exhibition (MICE), Jakarta is still number one in Indonesia.
