City Eliminates 1,060 Positions

Jakarta City Council has ratified the bylaw of regional structural. The bylaw eliminates 1,060 positions starting next year.

We eliminate 1,060 positions from 53 to 42 SKPDs

Acting Jakarta Governor, Sumarsono, said there are 5,998 existing positions in Jakarta Provincial Government. Based on the new bylaw, the existing positions becomes 4,938 from 42 regional working unit (SKPD)s.

“We eliminate 1,060 positions from 53 to 42 SKPDs,” he said, Tuesday (12/13).

City to Arrange New Official Positions

The position downsizing saves budget Rp 151 billion of the city budget. The budget will be allocated for public services.

Several agencies will have nomenclature changing such as Dept. of Transportation (Dinas Perhubungan dan Transportasi becomes Dinas Perhubungan), and Dept. of Communication Informatics and Public Relation becomes Dept. of Communication Informatics and Statistic.

Next are Dept. of Public Housing and Governmental Building becomes Dept. of Public Housing and Settlement. Dept. of City Spatial Planning becomes Dept. of Human Settlement, Spatial Planning and Land. Dept. of Water Management becomes Dept. of Water Resource.

Other SKPDs changing are Board of Society Empowerment, Women and Family Planning becomes Dept. of Children Protection Empowerment and Population Control. Dept. of Tax Service becomes Tax and Regional Retribution Board.

There are also joint SKPDs such as Regional Environmental Management Board joins with Dept. of Cleanliness. Korpri Secretariat joins with Regional Staffing Board.

“BPKAD is divided into two parts, monetary and asset management,” he added.

Several officials will be moved as functional officials since some SKPDs are turned as Technical Service Unit (UPT) like Regional Hospital, KPK Monas, KPK Ragunan, and Jakarta Islamic Centre.
