Jalan Tubagus Angke, from Pesing heading to Angke, West Jakarta were inundated by tidal wave by 15 cm.
The water will flow to the river when it recedes
The condition caused traffic jam along 500 meters. The tidal wave came from the overflow of Angke River.
Muladi (51), one of local people, admitted the road is always inundated by tidal wave.
Two Roads in Penjaringan Elevated“The water will flow to the river when it recedes,” he said, Friday (12/16).
According to him, Angke River which is the border of Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta with Penjaringan, North Jakarta has been installed with sheet pile.
“But the road is lower compared to the river,” he added.
Responding the matter, West Jakarta Head Sub-dept. of Water Management, Imron Syahrin admitted the tidal wave can not be solved with pump since the water debit is too high.
“The inundation will recede by itself,” he said.
