Flood in the capital can not be handled well before completing the north beach dike construction. The existing dike height is only 2.8 meters, or still under tidal wave by three meters.

According to him, flood will remain hit Jakarta of the dike is not completed. If it is added with local rain during three days, then 40 percent of Jakarta areas will be flooded.

Basuki admitted keeps buying heavy equipments to dredge the channel. It is predicted channel dredging can be completed in two years by keeping buying heavy equipments.
“Heavy equipments will assist us completing the channel dredging in two years,” he closed.
