January 1, Car Free Day Remain Held to Color New Year

Jakarta Transportation Dept Head, Andri Yansyah disclosed, the Car Free Night that was previously planned to color New Year had to be cancelled. Therefore, Car Free Day will still be held as usual, precisely on January 1.

"Car Free Day that falls on January 1 will remain be held," he stated, when being contacted, Saturday (12/31).

No Firecracker During New Year, Acting Governor Says

The event will start at 6-11 AM. Residents can still do exercise as usual on the weekend.  

He explained Car Free Night was cancelled due to some reasons. One of them is construction of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and Semanggi Interchange.
