Zahro Express Helmsman Named as a Suspect

The police named a helmsman of Zahro Express, Moh Nali (51) as a suspect a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. He is charged under Article 302 of Law Number 17/2008 on Sailing.

We already have the letters ordering the start of an investigation (sprindik)

Polda Metro Jaya Water Police Director, Hero Hendriatno Bachtiar disclosed the Zahro Express helmsman is deemed negligent in operating the ferry which is not eligible to cause death.

"We already have the letters ordering the start of an investigation (sprindik). The suspect was placed at the prison belongs to Polda Metro Jaya Water Police," he stated, Tuesday (1/3).

He explains, besides Article 302, the suspect is also charged under Article 117 junto 137 and 303 junto 122 Law Number 17/2008 on Sailing and Article 263 Criminal Code (KUHP) because of using fake document, Article 188 KUHP, Article 359 KUHP, 360 KUHP and Article 416 KUHP.

According to him, the suspect is identified as a citizen of Jl Pantai Selatan, RT 06/01, Tidung Island, Seribu Islands. The police also seized sailing license document and passenger manifest list as evidence.
