Two JPOs in S. Jakarta Proposed to Be Abolished

South Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept, proposing abolition of assets for unfeasible pedestrian bridges (JPO) on Jl Kapten Tendean Mampang Prapatan and in front of Ambara Blok M Hotel. 

We've proposed it to Bina Marga to abolish the asset of such bridges

Head of South Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept, Christianto disclosed has tried to close down pedestrian bridges twice on Jl Kapten Tendean, precisely in front of Mampang Prapatan Post Office. It is due to alarming condition. But, it was opened by locals because of requirement factor.

"We've proposed it to Bina Marga to abolish the asset of such bridges. Later on, the Mampang Post Office Bridge is built by private party via corporate social responsibility (CSR). As for the Blok M bridge is not used anymore," he stated, Wednesday (1/18).

Regarding on this matter, Jakarta Bina Marga Dept Head, Yusmada Faizal acknowledged has not known on proposal of asset abolition for two bridges in South Jakarta. His dept would recheck bridges in the capital. It is also to find out whether the bridge is still feasible or not.

"We do study first what had been planned previously. We will also check all the conditions of JPO in Jakarta," he disclosed.
