Deliquent Tax Payers' Penalty Raised

Jakarta Provincial Government will raise law enforcement penalty to delinquent tax payers. City also cooperates with Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK).

"This is enhancement of law enforcement penalty because this year will be a collection year," said Sumantri, City Tax and Regional Retribution (BPRD) head, Thursday (1/19).

The policy is taken responding tax collecting which still around Rp 5.4 trillion from 13 type of taxes. This year's revenue target is Rp 35.2 trillion.

"So, in 2017 we will act based on Act No. 19/2000 about tax collecting with forced letter and seizing," he added.

Edi continued that one of arrears which around Rp 3.8 trillion is handed over from Directorate General of Taxes. It is estimated around 600 of 1.7 million tax payers who in arrears.

"Soon we will appoint a bailiff who have a right to collect with forced letter up to seizing act," he closed.
