Pedagang Pasar Senen Korban Kebakaran Diizinkan Berjualan di Area Parkir

Senen Market Fire Victims Allowed to Sell at Parking Area

Acting Governor of Jakarta, Sumarsono, allowed some Senen market fire victim merchants to sell on the east side of the parking area. While other merchants are remain relocated to the 1st and 2nd floor, Block V.

The option is to stay at home or to sell in place we have provided

Sumarsono said that all merchants will be relocated to the first floor, 2, 5 and 6 in Block V first. However, the condition is considered unprofitable for merchants who occupy 5th and 6th floors, because they could lose the buyer.

"Condition on the 5th and 6th floor of Block V is actually qualified. PT. Pembangunan Jaya can provide a stall there," he said, when reviewing the location of burnt Senen Market, Tuesday (24/1).

500 Senen Market Merchants Able to Occupy Block V

He added that there will be selling timing management for merchants who will occupy the parking area to prevent  clash with cake sellers who used to sell at night and dawn.

"Cake sellers hours are from 6 PM to 6 AM, then from 6 AM to 6 PM is for merchants. Cake sellers agreed with it," he added.

Sumarsono continued that he had coordinated with PT. Pembangunan Jaya and PD. Pasar Jaya to provide stalls for merchants who sell at the parking area. Stall construction is targeted to be completed within one to 1.5 months.

He also asked merchants to understand the condition of temporary shelters (TPS) which is not as comfortable as their stall before.

"Government already provides the best place like this, the option is to stay at home or to sell in place we have provided. It is reasonable that TPS is not as comfortable as original place," he closed.
