120 Personnel Securing 33 Monasteries in Central Jakarta

120 Satpol PP personnel have been alerted to safeguard 33 monasteries in Central Jakarta during Chinese New Year, locally known as Imlek. It is conducted to create security and convenience of people who celebrate Imlek.

It's to give convenience to the pilgrims

Central Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Rahmat Efendi Lubis disclosed, hundreds of officers have been alerted since Friday (1/27) night until Imlek celebration thus it could run smooth, safe and comfort. He stated, the number of personnel in each monastery depends on location, and they are also assisted by army/police.

"It's to give convenience to the pilgrims. We doing this until the event is done, because the worship ways is different, can come on their own without the prescribed time," he expressed, Saturday (1/28).

His party will also block people with social welfare issues (PMKS) and street vendors (PKL) who try to enter into the monastery. Not only that, the personnel will also be alerted at congestion-prone areas to manage traffic.

"Because most of worship places are in densely populated areas. Then PMKS, usually they will leave after they see the personnel," he stated.
