E. Jakarta to Build Artificial Channel on Jl. Arafuru

East Jakarta Water Resource Sub-dept. will build artificial channel on Jl. Laut Arafuru to Kanal Banjir Timur (KBT) in Duren Sawit.

All this time, channel from Jl. Laut Banda to Arafuru is directed to the south. Later, we will divide it. We will make one more which will be directed to KBT area

The purpose of that two kilometers artificial channel construction is to overcome puddle which commonly happens on Jl. Laut Banda area to Jl. Laut Arafuru.

East Jakarta Water Resource Sub-dept. Head, A Yazied Bustomi, said that residential area in those two streets are always flooded because of its location on basin area.

Artificial Lake Construction in Pulogebang Reaches 75 Percent

"All this time, channel from Jl. Laut Banda to Arafuru is directed to the south. Later, we will divide it. We will make one more which will be directed to KBT area," he said, Tuesday (1/31).

He explained that the artificial channel is planned about three meters wide with six meters depth. The construction is budgeted for about Rp 20 billion.

"We will start build it in March. It is expected to be done in three months," he closed.
