Flood Anticipation in Cipinang Melayu and Kampung Rambutan Intensified

Cipinang Melayu (Makasar) and Kampung Rambutan urban villages that are prone to flood is very alerted by East Jakarta Administration.

East Jakarta Mayor, Bambang Musyawardana revealed, flood in both regions is especially due to unavailable sheet pile at Cipinang River.
Flood Handling Still Hampered By People on Riverbank"The river is potentially leading to flood in Cipinang Melayu and Kampung Rambutan," he stated, Monday (1/16).
He explained, in future, with BBSWCC, will
develop a sheet pile in the river as flood anticipation towards citizen settlement in Cipinang Melayu. As for the same project in Kampung Rambutan area, has entered the development of the reservoir in Kampung Rambutan 1 and 2."If the reservoir is connected, we hope it can reduce flood in Jakarta," he disclosed.
He stated, since 2015, the government has been intensifying anticipation of flood and inundation. Some are by dredging micro channel, macro channel, reservoir development and river normalization.
"As a result, we've been able to minimze flood-prone areas up to 70 percent," he explained.

4. Makasar Sub-district
