Fish Cultivation in Seribu Islands Keeps Getting Better

Fish cultivation in Seribu Islands Regency is experiencing significant improvement every year. It is recorded, since being applied in 2011-2015, sale volume also keeps getting better.

"The highest production and its sale is star pomfret that reaches 520,000 tons throughout 2011-2015. Last year, it was not calculated yet," expressed Sutrisno, Head of Seribu Islands Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-dept., Tuesday (1/31).

Fish Cultivation Applies Profit-sharing System

Besides pomfret, it also happens to white snapper that reaches 365,000 tons, followed by milkfish 352,882 tons, macan grouper 68,930 tons and bebek grouper 2,225 tons.

"Most buyers are from Jakarta and Tangerang. They admitted, they buy and sell it to restaurants and exported to China and Korea," he explained.

He described sale profit nominal from fish cultivation throughout 2011-2015. In details, profit from star pomfret Rp 23,77,000,000, milkfish Rp 8,918,730,000, macan grouper Rp 8,911,500,000 and bebek grouper Rp 744,540,000. 

"Cultivation production is calculated based on price and rupiah value period of 2011-2015," he disclosed.
