Council Wants School Boat to Be Operated

Jakarta City Council instructed related unit to immediately operate school boat in Seribu Islands.

It must be re-operated as soon as possible

Jakarta City Council Commission B Member, Syarifuddin asserted the cessation of the school boat should not disrupt learning and teaching activities (KBM) in schools.

"School boat procurement is a proposal from the public, because of different location between the school and the residence," he stated, Wednesday (2/8).

School Bus Will Be Used as Tour Bus on the Weekend

He added, institutional transition should be anticipated. Thus, the boat can operate regularly.

"It must be re-operated as soon as possible," he expressed.

Separately, Jakarta Transportation Dept. Vice Head, Sigit Wijatmoko disclosed his dept. is still awaiting an answer of Jakarta Inspectorate in order to avoid maladministration related to management changes.

"If the fund that still lies in Seribu Islands Transportation Sub-dept. can still be used, we will operate it soon," he uttered.

As known three school boats cannot be operated because of changes in regional organizations structural. The boat management moves from Transportation Sub-dept. to Seribu Islands to Water Transport and Harbor Management (UP-APK) for Jakarta Transportation Dept.
