IPAL at Pulogebang Flat Effectively Operates

The waste-water treatment plant (IPAL) at Pulogebang Flat, Cakung, East Jakarta has been operating effectively. By doing so, the wastewater from 694 households of the flat has been processed by two units thus can be used again.

Pulogebang Flat Management Unit (UPRS), Ageng Darminto disclosed the construction of two units is done by Jakarta Water Resources Dept. Although it was completed last year, both begin to effectively operate in the beginning of this year.
Sebira Island Needs Communal IPAL"The entire wastewater from the flat is processed there. As result, the water is free from harmful substances," he said, Thursday (2/9).
He assessed both units use membrane bioreactor technology and is able to process 80 cubic of wastewater per day. To test the water output, his side uses a pool filled with koi fish.
"If the quality is bad, the fish will die. And now the water that has been processed will be used for watering plants," he said.
