Central Jakarta Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) Sub-dept. will open Children Identity Card (KIA) publication service in Children-Friendly Integrated Spaces (RPTRA) this year.

If any child is listed in Family Card (KK) but not having birth certificate yet, we will serve for making birth certification together with KIA on the same day

Central Jakarta Dukcapil Sub-dept. Head, Remon Masadian, said that for any child who does not have birth certificate yet, can get it and KIA at the same time.

"We already have children's data who are under five years old and have birth certificate. If any child is listed in Family Card (KK) but not having birth certificate yet, we will serve for making birth certification together with KIA on the same day," he said, Tuesday (2/14).

He explained the service is not done at the same time but scheduled by turns. His side also uses the momentum if someday there are any activity in RPTRA that involving citizen, he will open KIA publication service.

"We will coordinate it with urban village and sub-district heads so they can urge parents whose child not having KIA yet. Working unit will also collecting data based on the database so we can serve for birth certification too," he explained.

He continued that KIA publication is in accordance with Act No. 23/2016 about Civil Administration as amended by Act No. 24/2013 and Permendagri No. 2/2016 about Children Identity Card (KIA). As planned, KIA service will be start in second quarter.

"Because it is still in preparing process, since the law is done, blank also ready, we just need installation progress. We will work optimally thus children in Central Jakarta can have KIA. So, we must open our service in those 14 RPTRA," he closed.
