Residents Asked for Continuing Sunter River Normalization

Cipinang Melayu Urban Village residents asked for Sunter River normalization which was stopped in 2012 to be continued again.

RW heads in Cipinang Melayu already proposed either verbally or in writing to immediately continue the normalization

RW 04 of Cipinang Melayu Head, Irwan Kurniadi, said when heavily rain or any water flowing from head waters, residential are often flooded.

"RW heads in Cipinang Melayu already proposed either verbally or in writing to immediately continue the normalization," he said, Thursday (2/16).

Ciliwung Normalization Has Touched 40 Percent

Cipinang Melayu Sub-district Head, Angga Sastra, admitted about 11 RTs from 2 RWs are often flooded. 

"Luckily, flood that was happened today is quickly recede," he added.

While, City Water Resources Dept. Head, Teguh Hendrawan stated his side actually did not prepare budget for Sunter River normalization this year. But, another alternative ways are prepared. 

"Sunter River related dams construction and function will be maximized. Those dams are Rambutan, Pekayon, and Cimanggis dams," he closed.
