Aid for Cipinang Melayu Flood Victims Distributed

Till this morning, there are about 300 to 2,000 residents of RW 03 and 04, Cipinang Melayu Urban Village, East Jakarta who become flood victims staying in the shelter. Food aid and another logistics have been distributed.

Since last night we already given meal packages. Aid from others like PMI and Social Sub-dept also been accepted

Cipinang Melayu Urban Village Head, Angga Sastra Amijaya, said 285 refugees from RW 04 are still stay in Borobudur University's Masjid. While in RW 03 Post Office, there are 15 refugees.

"Since last night we already given meal packages. Aid from others like PMI and Social Sub-dept also have been accepted," he said, Monday (2/20).

Floods Force Citizens of Cipinang Melayu to Flee

Besides that, tarpaulin sleeping mats and another necessities were given to the refugees. But his side still needed diapers and milk for toddler because for about 50 of the refugees are toddler's aged refugees.

Cipinang Melayu RW 04 Head, Irwan Kurniadi, stated current water level already receded about 20 centimeters than before. Inundation water level in deepest point still around 1 meter.

"Actually last night it began to recede, but around 2 A.M. at dawn water rose again," he closed.
