Floods Force Citizens of Cipinang Melayu to Flee

The East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept. officers have evacuated 49 flood victims from residential of RW 03 and 04, Cipinang Melayu Urban Village, Makasar. The water level in such region reached one meter.

We managed to evacuate 49 people so far

Section Head of Fire Handling and Rescue, Gatot Sulaeman disclosed, to evacuate victims, his section sent two rubber boats and 10 officers to the location.

"We managed to evacuate 49 people so far," he stated, Sunday (2/19).

Floods in Pejaten Timur Receded

Melayu Cipinang Urban Village Head, Angga Sastra Amijaya added, at this time, water level has yet to recede. His side also has prepared mattress, tarpaulin and boiled water at the refugee camp, University of Borobudur.

"That's why we set up refugee camp at University of Borobudur. Lastly, there have been 200 people evacuated," he expressed.

His side also has coordinated with East Jakarta Social Sub-dept. to prepare fast food for 300-400 people.

"We predict, floods hit 200 households in RW 03 and 400 households in RW 04. Totally, there are 1,500-2,000 victims here," he closed.
