TPU Karet Bivak Segera Diperluas

Karet Bivak TPU will Be Expanded

The Karet Bivak Public Cemetery (TPU) will be expanded this year. It is done because the land needs for the burial in the capital is very high.

We see a 4,000-meter wide land behind Karet Bivak TPU, this belongs to local government. And this year it will be transformed into a graveyard

"We see a 4,000-meter wide land behind Karet Bivak TPU, this belongs to local government. And this year it will be transformed into a graveyard," disclosed Munjirin Rasyid, Head of Central Jakarta Forestry Sub-dept., Monday (2/27).

According to him, local people currently use such land as chicken farm, car parking and used goods placement. Sooner or later, the land will be arranged, considering the government has sent first and second warning to them. "The land can be divided into 1,500-2,000 plots of new grave," he expressed.

Basin at Karet Bivak Cemetery to Be Heightened

In Central Jakarta itself, it could only be realized in Karet Bivak TPU and Petamburan TPU. Unfortunately, it is impossible in Kawi-Kawi TPU and Pasar Baru Barat TPU, but can only be overlapped.

"The demand for burial in Central Jakarta is between 150-200 plots of tomb per month. That's why alternative that can be done is the use of assets to a new tomb," he finished.
